Why should we clean PV panels?

In order to effectively operate solar power plants, the need to inspect, evaluate and introduce measures to improve power generation efficiency is huge. Typically, cleaning dirt on solar panels after a period of operation to achieve maximum efficiency for the plant.

Persistent stains caused by environmental factors such as dust, algae, pollen or even small stains such as lichen or bird waste can significantly reduce the plant’s performance and the owner’s profitability.

To achieve the highest efficiency for the solar power plant, the panels need to be cleaned periodically, but because the battery system is spread over a large area, the workload is not small. Therefore, POM has chosen the method of using a cleaning robot in combination with pressurized water to clean the surface of solar panels in order to increase efficiency and reduce costs compared to manual cleaning.

RP0XPV is the first semi-automatic solar battery cleaning robot developed and used by POM. This technological achievement can meet the diverse operating conditions of solar power plants across Vietnam.

The solar PV cleaning robot is based on the principle of using water in combination with a cleaning brush to easily remove dirt without harming the panel surface.

Safety and flexibility of RP0XPV solar PV cleaning robot

RP0XPV robot is very compact (42kg), so it can be placed on the surface of the panel and moved and cleaned automatically without harming the structure and structure of the panel.

In addition, the robot can also change the length to suit specific conditions, so the robot can clean three rows of batteries in two different directions at the same time with the length of the brush up to 6 meters. In addition, the robot can be operated remotely for a distance of up to 500 meters.
