Houay LaNge Hydropower Plant is on the Houaylange River in Sekong Province, southern Laos. The main dam basin is 75.3 square kilometers wide and the secondary dam basin is 80.1 square kilometers wide.
The main projects include an auxiliary dam, water supply tunnel, main dam, pilot tunnel, surge tank, pressure pipeline, and factory. The main dam is a rolling concrete dam with a height of 59 meters and a crest length of 174 meters.
The factory has two vertical shaft hydraulic units, each of which is 30MW with a total capacity of 60MW. The water column design is 600 meters. It is estimated that the average annual power generation is 289.69 million kWh.
The power is connected to Nam-Emoun substation through the 41km 220kV line. Then it continues to be transmitted through the 13.4km 230kV Nam Emoun – Đắk Ôốc line, and connected to the 220kV Đắk Ôốc cutting station in Tà Bhing Township, Nam Giang County, Quang Nam Province, Vietnam, to be integrated into the national power grid of central and southern Vietnam for power supply.
